The main purpose of using ND filters is to reduce the amount of light entering the lens in order to be able to set the appropriate exposure time for the user and avoid overexposure to the sun. With ND filters, you can also use low exposure times when recording video to get the desired effects. By using a dim coating process, color distortion problems that often occur with conventional ND filters are avoided.
